I'm back from my travels now,
so there's a few opportunities coming up for you to meet each other. Grab the
chance, because I'll be off on more travels quite soon !
Wednesday 8th February
I'm back now, as I said above, so our Wednesday meet is back on
the menu;- a free night, even including some food, and teas & coffees
etc (if you fancy a tipple, please bring it with you - we've plenty of glasses).
From 8.30pm.
Saturday 11th February
Don't know what the
weather will be like at this stage, but the atmosphere at the house will be
as warm as ever. Great music, pool table if you fancy a game, otherwise plenty
of natter, perhaps a dance ? No food tonight, but it's a free one, so come join
the throng ! Anytime (within reason) after 8.30pm.

Every Monday Night - you might enjoy a Singles Dance held weekly at The Lodge, Corbets Tey Road, Upminster. This is not organised by me, and nothing to do with Essex Singles, except that you'll find quite a few members there, and of course quite a few other unattached people. Wednesdays - Not sure if this is weekly, monthly, or even if it's still going, but the Hornchurch Conservative Club started an Over 45's Disco on Wednesday 7th September. 8-11pm, £3.00 admission, licensed bar, dancing, and no membership required. Check it out on 01708-442213

Hornchurch Conservative Club is well known for the quality of
their ever popular 'JAZZ ON SUNDAY' nights and our host
'Laurie' is a respected afficionado of the genre. Anything
from a four piece to fifteen talented jazz players have
appeared and if you are a JAZZ fan this is the place to be.

One of our members, David, from Westcliff, sent me an email
about an organisation you might be interested in. Worth
repeating his words, I think ...
Hi Les,
I thought I would pass on details to you of the Essex
Jive Clubs as any members who enjoy dancing would have a great
time.
The first time I went I was on my own and felt a bit nervous
but they made me feel so welcome I thoroughly enjoyed it and
have been going ever since.
Everyone is welcome, all age groups, beginners and
experienced catered for.
You don't need a partner because you move around during the
lessons and meet lots of new people.
I go to Thursday nights at
Poplars Hall, Brentwood 8pm -
11pm.
and Sunday nights at The Old
Regent Ballroom, Stanford Le Hope on a
Sunday night 7.30pm - 10.30pm.

A Night at The Dogs
!
... where you can not only enjoy a flutter, but have a snack
or meal, a drink, sometimes with live music ... it's a
great night out, and with so much activity it takes the
pressure off entertaining your date.
There's only one venue in Essex, (correct me if I'm wrong),
and that's the
Romford
Greyhound Stadium, where they meet every Monday,
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday evenings, plus Thursday
